After a gap of three days, two more persons succumbed to dengue taking the toll in Delhi to 27 even as it reported 92 fresh cases of the disease.
The total number of dengue cases in Delhi now stood at 1,278, health officials said.
Sunita (70), who was rushed to AIIMS in a critical condition from Ballabhgarh in Haryana on Thursday evening died within hours of admission, while Uma Devi (40) succumbed to the deadly viral disease at 5:30 am on Friday.
Of the 92 fresh cases in the capital, 44 were admitted to the AIIMS where 160 patients are being treated for the mosquito-borne disease.
The largest number of dengue cases in Delhi have been reported from Shahdara area, where over 150 cases have been registered.
Delhi government has instructed MCD and NDMC to intensify fogging operations and also take effective measures to control the breeding of mosquitoes.
It has also asked the civic bodies to check construction sites and empty plots for mosquito breeding.
