A father who wants Afzal hanged

Bansidhar Chattopadhyay, father of Dhananjay Chattopadhyay, who was hanged for raping and murdering a minor in 2003, has appealed to the President not to commute the death sentence of Parliament attack mastermind Mohammad Afzal Guru.

Chattopadhyay made the appeal in a letter to President A P J Abdul Kalam [ Images ], along with other residents of Kuldihi village in West Bengal's [ Images ] Bankura district.

Dhananjay Chattopadhyay was hanged to death on August 14, 2003, for raping and murdering Hetal Parekh, a minor girl, after serving 14 years of jail term.
