Dengue kills 46

The outbreak of Dengue has spread to more parts of the country with 3236 cases being reported from at least 14 states.

So far, 46 people have died.

While Delhi accounted for maximum number of deaths at 18, eight succumbed in Rajasthan, followed by four each in Karnataka, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh, three each in Gujarat and West Bengal and one each in Haryana and Maharashtra.

As many as 3236 dengue cases have been reported from various parts of the country, an official of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme said on Friday.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's grandsons, Rohan (11) and Madhav (17), and son-in-law Vijay Tankha, who were admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, were likely to be discharged on Saturday.
