Giving out the verdict against actor Sanjay Dutt in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, the Judge Pramod Kode said Dutt is not a terrorist and that he had got the rifles in order to protect his family.
Soon after the Judge pronounced Dutt guilty under the Arms Act, the actor ventured to say something. The judge gestured at Dutt to hold on and said, "He is not a terrorist."
Dutt had procured three AK 56 rifles and a hand gun from those people who were plotting the blasts, that killed close to 300 people.
There are also chances that Sanjay Dutt will get bail before evening.
His lawyers said they will apply for bail right away and that he might be out on bail before Wednesday evening.
It is also said that, for the sections of the Arms Act under which Dutt is convicted, the punishment could be either a one-year jail term, or a jail term anywhere between three to five years.
