Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday evening on the eve of the Chinese-Indian trade and investment summit.

He was received at the airport by Maharashtra's Marketing and Employment Guarantee Scheme Minister Harshvardhan Patil.

During his visit, Hu will meet the sisters of doctor Dwarkadas Kotnis, who treated Chinese soldiers during the Japanese invasion of that country in the 1940s. He will also meet officials of the Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai before leaving for Islamabad on Thursday afternoon, the officials said.
