Welcoming the results of municipal polls held in the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Monday said people had stamped their approval on the government's urban development policies.
"The government has stressed on urbanisation and due to the implementation of Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission and low-cost housing initiatives for the poor, the people have voted in large numbers for Congress and the policies of the DF governments," Deshmukh said in a official release in Mumbai.
He exuded confidence that the party would continue its form in the forthcoming elections to municipal corporations and Zilla Parishads.
