The body of the slain Indian engineer K Suryanarayana was brought by a regular flight from Delhi to Hyderabad on Monday night. It arrived at 8.40 pm.

The body was received at Hyderabad airport by his family members, relatives and friends. Later, it was shifted to his residence at East Anandbagh locality in Malkajgiri municipality.

Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at the airport and later at the house with family members weeping inconsolably.

A large crowd, including relatives, neighbours, political activists and others, gathered at the house. Police made elaborate arrangement to keep onlookers at bay.

His second wife Swapna, who made a dramatic appearance on Monday morning, sat in protest on the roadside near his house after the police did not allow her to enter the premises.

Meanwhile, his first wife Manjula, who had attempted suicide at the house by consuming phenyl, is recovering in a local hospital in the neighbourhood.
