Former speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Presidium chairman K Kalimuthu, who had been named as party nominee from Madurai central for the May 8 Assembly polls, has been dropped from the list of candidates.
He would be replaced by S T K Jakkian, former member of Parliament, an AIADMK release said in Chennai Wednesday.
Kalimuthu had been keeping unwell and was discharged from a hospital in Chennai recently after three weeks of treatment.
The party also changed three other candidates whose names appeared in the orginal list released Monday.
K P Raju had been replaced by S P Velumani at Perur, Selvi Duraiswamy by Subramaniam at Andhiyur (SC) and M Paramasivam by R Parthiban at Bodinayaganur, the release said.
