The electoral adjustment between the Congress-led United Democratic Front and Democratic Indira Congress-Karunakaran for the coming assembly polls in Kerala was finalised on Friday by leaders from both parties.

The DIC-K will get 18 seats as part of the accord signed by DIC-K president K Muraleedharan and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala in the presence of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, at the latter's residence.

In Kerala, it's CPI-M versus CPI-M

"We need senior leader Karunakaran's support to fight the coming elections. We will join with him and all problems between us have been solved," Congress Working Committee member in charge of Kerala affairs Veerappa Moily told reporters after holding talks with DIC-K leaders Muraleedharan, T M Jacob and Indian Union Muslim League leader P K Kunhalikutty, who acted as mediator between the two parties.

While Muraleedharan said his party would actively work for UDF's victory, Chennitala said he was happy that all Congressmen were reuniting under the leadership of party chief Sonia Gandhi.
