The incident took place on the border of Jharkhand's Hazaribagh and Bihar's Gaya districts.
Police recovered four bodies and the extremists had taken two others away. Two other extremists were also injured, but managed to escape, according to Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar Singh.
Singh told UNI that 10 rifles, two hand grenades and naxalite literature were recovered from the spot.
