CPI(M) politburo member Anil Biswas still critical

The condition of CPI (M) politburo member and secretary of the West Bengal [ Images ] unit, Anil Biswas [ Images ], continued to be critical at a city nursing home where he underwent a second surgery following a brain haemorrhage on Saturday night, party sources said.

Doctors said his condition was "critical but stable."

A host of CPI (M) leaders, including party general secretary Prakash Karat [ Images ] and politburo members Sitaram Yechury [ Images ] and Brinda Karat [ Images ] visited the ailing leader at the nursing home.
