Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Tuesday said the recent anti-Bush protests by Muslims in Mumbai were in reality a show of strength, which should ring a warning bell for Hindus.
'Although they claim that the protest was against the Prophet Mohammed's cartoons in a Denmark daily, the real reason behind this (protest) was show of strength,' Thackeray said in party mouthpiece Saamna.
'Muslims in India have united and are exercising their strength. Hindus and Hindustan are in danger,' he said, adding, 'Had such a morcha (march) been organised by the Sena, police would have maintained strict security, and army and rapid action force would have been deployed.'
The Sena chief accused the media of being a silent spectator to the vandalism indulged in by participants of the morcha.
