Pakistan has not taken any significant steps to dismantle terrorist infrastructure on its soil and continues to provide logistic and financial support to terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, government said Thursday.

Pakistan has also been attempting to infiltrate its agents for subversive activities and espionage through the porous India-Bangladesh and India-Nepal borders, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal informed the Rajya Sabha.

"According to available inputs, Pakistan has not taken any significant action to dismantle the infrastructure of terror on its soil and continues to provide logistic support, including recruitment, arms training and finances to the terrorists of Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country," he said in a written reply.

He said the government has taken measures, including strengthening of border management to check infiltration, galvanising the intelligence machinery, ensuring improved technology and weaponry and equipment of security forces to curb terrorist activities.

"Besides, steps have also been taken to achieve bilateral and multilateral cooperation to deal with the menace of terrorism, given its global dimension," he said.

In a separate reply, he said several measures, including strengthening of the Border Security Force, providing them with modern equipment and surveillance gadgets, reduction of gaps between border outposts, have been taken to check in infiltration along the Indo-Bangla border.

He said additional battalions of BSF have been raised, patrolling of border areas intensified and construction of border roads and border fencing intensified for the same purpose.
