India has fair chance for UN top job: Tharoor

India [ Images ] stands a fair chance of success in the race to the top job in the United Nations, the country's nominee for UN secretary generalship Shashi Tharoor [ Images ] indicated on Monday.

"We would not have been in this race if we didn't believe there is a reasonable prospect for success," Tharoor told reporters after a 30-minute meeting with Prime Mnister Manmohan Singh [ Images ] in New Delhi [ Images ].
