The interim report of the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory on the gastric lavage (stomach wash) of Rahul Mahajan, embroiled in a drug abuse case, show metabolites of heroin and cocaine, but there was no presence of alcohol, official sources said in Delhi on Wednesday.

They said the test report of Rahul showed only presence of the two psychotropic subtances in his stomach wash while the gastric lavage of late Pramod Mahajan's secretary Vivek Maitra showed the presence of ethanol besides metabolites of heroin and cocaine.

According to the sources, heroin changes its form once it mixes with the gastric juices of the stomach, while cocaine remains unchanged.

The two gastric lavages were part of the five samples handed over to the CFSL on June 3 by the Delhi police.

The scientists also carried out mass spectro photometric test and Thin Layer Chromotographic on the stained clothes of Mahajan and Maitra during which it again found stains of the two psychotropic substances.

The Delhi police had handed over an upper garment as well as an under garment of the duo for examiniation.

The pouch recovered from Maitra's body, which was handed over to the CFSL by the Delhi police, has already been confirmed as heroin

The CFSL was also conducting tests on the other set of samples sent by the Delhi police on June 7, which included another gastric lavage sample of Rahul Mahajan, two champagne bottles with 200 militeres, a tinned box of dry fruits, empty glass and a water bottle.

While the test on the lavage was being conduted, there was no presence of drugs on other samples, which are now being tested for poison including pesticides.
