A day after being rescued from a 50-feet pit where he was trapped for more than two days, six-year-old Haryana boy Prince has no apparent external or internal injuries and was responding well to treatment, doctors said.

Prince, who showed tremendous survival instinct by enduring the 50-hour ordeal as he sat trapped in the pit, was also being given psychological help, doctors at the LNJP Hospital said.

"Externally there are no injuries. X-rays have shown there are no internal injuries," a doctor treating the boy said, adding that they were conducting some more tests.

The boy will be at the hospital for two days, he said.

Prince, however, was talking only to his parents, the doctor said.

"He is not responding or saying anything to anyone except his mother or father," the medical superintendent said.

"We are treating him on a partly psychological basis," he added.

Prince had fallen into the trench in a village near Kurukshetra while playing and was rescued nearly 50 hours later by army soldiers aided by experts from the fire service and air force on Sunday night in an operation that was watched by the entire nation and also people abroad.
