Rajya Sabha's House Committee has granted a four-month extension to the family of late Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] MP Pramod Mahajan [ Images ] to use the leader's Safdarjung Road bungalow.
The bungalow was allotted to Mahajan in 1999 when he was political advisor to the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee [ Images ].
The House Committee recommended the extension on humanitarian grounds, an official source said.
Pramod Mahajan died in Mumbai [ Images ] on May 3 after being shot at by his brother Pravin. The House Committee had granted a three-month extension to the family, but later was about to cancel it when the BJP leader's son Rahul was arrested for drug use.
