Rajya Sabha's House Committee has granted a four-month extension to the family of late Bharatiya Janata Party MP Pramod Mahajan to use the leader's Safdarjung Road bungalow.
The bungalow was allotted to Mahajan in 1999 when he was political advisor to the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The House Committee recommended the extension on humanitarian grounds, an official source said.
Pramod Mahajan died in Mumbai on May 3 after being shot at by his brother Pravin. The House Committee had granted a three-month extension to the family, but later was about to cancel it when the BJP leader's son Rahul was arrested for drug use.
