Police teams from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan have come to Bangalore following reports that the culprits behind the Mumbai serial bomb blasts on Tuesday last, that claimed over 200 lives, were taking refuge in the city.

Corps of Detectives sources told UNI today that teams belonging to the intelligence, CoD and Criminal Intelligence Department from the three states have joined hands with the local police to look for the accused.

Sources said the teams had fanned out to various parts of the city and were keeping a strict vigil at railway stations, bus-stands and the airport. ''Police teams from different states are here as it will be easier to identify the culprits,'' the sources added.

Meanwhile, security had been beefed up across Karnataka following reports that activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India, suspected to be involved in the terror attacks in Mumbai, had entered the state.

For the third today, the state police and the Railway Protection Force continued to carry out search operations at Bangalore Central, Cantonment and Yeshwantpur railway stations.
