Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Tuesday night asked VIPs to avoid visiting Mumbai in the wake of the serial blasts unless their going is of any help to the affected people.
"It is natural for the railway minister and the home minister to go there as also some VVIPs, but there is no need for each and every VIP to visit the megapolis in the current situation," he told reporters in New Delhi.
Pawar, who was the chief minister of Maharashtra during the 1993 blasts, expressed confidence that Mumbai police would take ruthless action against the perpetrators of the act.
