One person was killed and either others were injured as two bombs went off in Kabul on Wednesday.

The first explosion -– courtesy a remote-controlled bomb kept in a handcart -- took place in the Khair Khana area of northern Kabul. The bomb was detonated as a bus drove past in the morning. One pedestrian was killed in this explosion.

The second bomb -– also remote-controlled -– was hidden in a garbage bin in downtown Kabul, and was triggered as an Afghan military vehicle drove by, causing it to careen out of control. Luckily, however, there were no casualties in this explosion.
