The health of Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, who was hospitalised on Monday night after complaining of chest pains, has improved, family sources said on Tuesday.
"The prime minister's health is improving and I talked to him when he was having breakfast at the hospital this morning," his daughter Sujata Koirala told PTI over phone.
She also said that three doctors, including a lung specialist, have been called from India to attend on Koirala.
They are expected to land in the afternoon. He may be shifted to his official residence at Baluwatar in the evening and necessary arrangements for his treatment will be made there, she said.
Koirala, 84, was rushed to the Gangalal Hospital in Kathmandu last night after complaining of chest pains.
He was suffering from lung infection for some time and as per the X-Ray report there is not much damage, Sujata said.
Koirala returned from Bangkok last week after a medical check-up.
The wedding of Koirala's granddaughter will take place as scheduled on Wednesday and many invitees from India are expected to join in the celebrations, family sources said.
