Congress on Saturday downplayed the resignation of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhajan Lal saying the party had not received any communication from him, but dismissed the former chief minister's charge that injustice has been meted out to him.
"We have not received his resignation letter yet. Whenever it is received, it will be placed before the Congress president and whatever decision is taken on it will be communicated to you," party general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi said.
Dwivedi, who is in charge of party affairs for Haryana, refuted suggestions that there was any injustice done to the senior leader.
"Bhajan Lal has been chief minister of the state for 13 years and has currently been the PCC chief. One of his sons is the deputy chief minister of the state while another a member of Parliament," he remarked.
