Extradited underworld don Abu Salem Tuesday moved an application before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court alleging that he was being tortured by Crime Branch officers probing the murder of Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala's former private secretary Ajit Diwani in 2001.

Salem's counsel Ashok Sarogi said that he had moved the application in the MCOCA court stating that his client has been tortured by Crime Branch sleuths and were pressurising him to give confession in the case.

MCOCA Judge Abhay Thipsay admitted the petition and adjourned for Tuesday.

Detection Crime Branch of Mumbai police took the custody of Salem on January 18 for his alleged involvement in the Diwani murder.
