Giving a reprieve to Mumbai police's encounter specialist Daya Nayak and his wife Komal, a special court on Wednesday restrained the Anti-Corruption Bureau from arresting them till January 27, in a case of disproportionate assets.
The hearing on the anticipatory bail plea made by Nayak, Komal and their associate Rajendra Padte has been adjourned till January 27.
Judge S P Mahajan, hearing the plea for anticipatory bail, directed the petitioners to deposit their passports with ACB by Thursday morning.
All the three of them have also been directed to appear in person before the court on January 27, when their plea for the bail will be heard. The court has also directed them not to leave the jurisdiction of the court until their matter is heard.
