Schoolboy abducted in Bihar

A 15-year-old school boy Navlendu was abducted by unidentified criminals in Patna on Tuesday morning, police said.

Navlendu, 15, a student of Don Dosco Academy in Patna was abducted near his house in Phulwarisharief locality when he was going to school.

Navlendu father O P Diwakar , who is a veterinary doctor said that his son was abducted by criminals at gun point.

"He was going to his school in my car as usual. The car was stopped hardly 10 metres from my house, the driver was assaulted and my son forcibly taken away." Diwakar said.

Police have recovered the car in which the boy was taken away at Sipara near Patna.

The abducted Navlendu is a close relative of former minister and senior Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Shayam Rajak, who is considered close to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and former chief minister Rabri Devi.

Police have launched a massive manhunt to recover the boy. "We have sealed all the entry points and alerted police stations," police officials said.

In the last 15 days over two dozen abduction cases were reported across Bihar.
