A team of Mumbai crime branch on Monday conducted a search operation in the house of arrested Imam Maulana Ghulam Ilahi Yahya Allah Baksh at Goalpukur under Haroa police station in North 24 Parganas.
They have seized several documents, which proved the Imam's link with terrorist outfits like Lashkar-e-Tayiba.
The Imam, who is based in a Mumbai mosque, was arrested on Friday in Mumbai, the police said, for allegedly funding LeT terrorists.
The Mumbai crime branch conducted the raid with the help of the district police in Goalpukur.
Reacting to the search operation, Idrish Ahmed, elder brother of the accused, pleaded his ignorance about the fuctioning of his brother who reportedly has links with the ultras.
"Ghulam used to visit his Haorah residence ocassionally. He came to West Bengal in June but we could not understand that he had links with such organisations," Idrish said.
Ghulam graduated from Urdu University, where he studied Urdu and Islamic religion, and became an Imam in 1995.
