Two persons, arrested on the charge of raping a South African model in a Mumbai hotel, were on Friday remanded to judicial custody till January 27; Sunil Morpani and Suresh Krishnani were produced before Metropolitan Magistrate S M Shishode, who remanded them to judicial custody.
Earlier, they had been placed in police custody and the victim had pin-pointed at the duo during the identification parade conducted by police in the presence of a special executive magistrate.
Police had also seized a car that was allegedly used to transport the victim from a western suburb hotel to another hotel in nearby Kalyan in Thane district, where she was allegedly sexually exploited for two days in December-end last year.
Morpani and Krishnani, both residents of Ulhasnagar, a satellite city of Mumbai, were arrested on charges of drugging the model at Hotel Bawa International and raping her at the Kalyan hotel.
Meanwhile, investigations in the case were last week transferred from Vile Parle police station to the Crime Branch.
