Kerry all praise for Andhra Pradesh

United States Senator John Kerry on Thursday had a word of appreciation for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for taking innovative initiatives in promoting healthcare, education, infrastructure, eradication of illiteracy, free power to the farm sector and mass contact programmes.

Kerry, who called on the chief minister on Thursday afternoon, said, "It is highly laudable that healthcare is being given top priority in the state. And the AIDS awareness campaign also needs a special mention."

Development in information and technology, biotechnology and the advent of industrial zones and special economic zones will give be great fillip to overall development in the state, Kerry said.
