Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a Kashmiri separatist leader and chairman of the Geelani faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, is likely to meet the chairman of the Muttahida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin in Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of performing Haj, next week, to discuss the latest situation in the Kashmir Valley.

While Geelani is already in Saudi Arabia, Salahuddin is likely to reach there in a couple of days.

"Salahuddin is likely to leave for Saudi Arabia in a couple of days to perform Haj, where he will also meet Geelani," the Daily Times quoted sources as saying.

The unidentified sources further said that although Salahuddin and Geelani had been in contact for a long time, they were meeting after six years. "Both men will also discuss various options and proposals including track-II diplomacy, the composite dialogue process and the Hurriyat's reunification," they added.

Salahuddin would brief Geelani about his meetings with Hurriyat Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, and former Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik, in 2005.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the MJC was held in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday where the Kashmiri leaders on the Pakistani side of LoC criticised the role of Jammu and Kashmir politicians, saying that their participation in track-II diplomacy had directly or indirectly supported Indian efforts to weaken the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris.
