Observing that the application was flawed, the Delhi [ Images ] High Court Friday refrained from issuing notices to the Centre on a petition seeking dismissal of the Solicitor General and two others for tendering "wrong advice" on de-freezing London [ Images ] bank accounts of Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrochhi, an accused in the Bofors pay-offs.

A Division Bench of Justice Vijender [ Images ] Jain and Justice Rekha [ Images ] Sharma, however, asked petitioner Rashtriya Mukti Morcha to amend its petition and file a fresh application before the court.

During the brief arguments, the court asked senior counsel P N Lekhi, appearing for the petitioner, as to under what remedy he was seeking the dismissal of the Solicitor General and the two Additional Solicitor Generals.

The Bench said it would be a mockery of law if the court starts entertaining applications that challenge the advice rendered by government officers while discharging their duties.
