The alleged kingpin in multi-crore fake stamp case, Abdul Karim Telgi, who is in the midst of making confession in a stamp seizure case of 1995 in Mumbai, was admitted to the Sassoon General Hospital again on Saturday.

According to Rajendra Dhamane, Suprintendent of Yerawada Central Jail, where he is lodged, Telgi was taken to hospital for a routine check-up. However, if the doctors felt it necessary that Telgi should be admitted.

A three-member team of doctors from the hospital on the direction of the Special Court in Mumbai, hearing the case, had yesterday conducted a medical check-up of the accused in his egg-shaped cell the Yerawada Central Jail, where he has been lodged for the last three years since being shifted to Pune from Bangalore prison.

Telgi was earlier admitted to Sassoon General Hospital on Wednesday morning after he complained of chest pain and was discharged in the evening despite protests that he was not feeling okay. He had told doctors that he was seized by giddiness and was feeling weak.

The doctors said that it was important to monitor the sugar level and blood pressure of Telgi for at least eight days, who is an HIV positive patient and afflicted with other ailments.

Telgi, in his two days of inconclusive in-camera confession before Pune's Chief Judicial Magistrate D W Modak, had recorded aroun 83 pages.
