After suspending him from the party's parliamentary group, Samajwadi Party on Wednesday suspended its Agra parliamentarian, Raj Babbar, from the primary membership of the party as well for his anti-party activities.

Babbar, who had of late launched a vitriolic attack against party General Secretary Amar Singh, was suspended from the parliamentary party on Tuesday by its leader Ram Gopal Yadav, a day after he had a meeting with party supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Highly placed party sources said the leadership was awaiting a report on Babbar from the three-member disciplinary action committee headed by senior leader Kalyan Jain. Parliamentarian Udai Pratap Singh and Uttar Pradesh Minister Khwaja Hallem are the two other members of the DAC.

The DAC is different from the three-member committee constituted on Tuesday by Ram Gopal Yadav, to go into the 'entire conspiracy' behind Babbar's outburst against Amar Singh and the party.

However, sources made it clear that expulsion of Babbar depended upon the findings of the two committees. SP leaders also took a dig at Babbar for his challenge to take on any party leader except Mulayam Singh from any constituency in UP and outside.

They said Agra was the only Lok Sabha seat where the party lost all its 7 assembly seats despite giving tickets to people 'handpicked' by Babbar.

Babbar's revolt was the first open attack from within the party against Amar Singh, who has risen to prominence sidelining many a veteran leaders to become the most trusted lieutenant of Malaya Singh in the last few years.
