PM calls high-level meeting to discuss demolition issue

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday called a high-level meeting to discuss the issue of demolition of unauthorised structures in Delhi.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Minister for Urban Development Jaipal Reddy and his deputy Ajay Maken, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will attend the meeting, sources said.

Dikshit had sought a meeting with the Dr Singh Monday, but it could not be worked out.

More than 18,000 estabilishments were to be demolished in the city under court orders.
