The International Atomic Energy Agency, which is the United Nations nuclear watchdog, adjourned till Friday its meeting to decide whether to refer Iran to the UN Security Council over suspected atomic weapons work.
The board of governors of the 35-nation agency began meeting on Thursday and adjourned their deliberations until Friday at 1930 IST to allow further consultations on a European-led resolution demanding Iran's referral to the UN Security Council over its nuclear activities.
The referral is very crucial for India.
The United States has hinted subtly many a time in the past that if India does not vote against Iran, it might not get civilian nuclear technology.
India's Left parties, in the meanwhile, do not want the government to vote against Iran.
