Supreme Court issues notices on MP expulsions

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to the Centre, the Election Commission and the Lok Sabha Secretariat on a petition seeking transfer of all cases challenging the expulsion of 11 members of Parliament, in connection with the cash-for-query scam.

A division bench of Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Justice C K Thakker asked the respondents to file their replies to the petition filed by the Centre by Febraury 13.

Attorney General Milan Banerjee had mentioned the transfer petition before the Bench and requested that the nine peitions, pending in the Delhi High Court in this regard, be heard by it.
