Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen [ Images ] fainted for a few minutes during a dinner on Sunday night; doctors said on Monday that it was due to dehydration.
Sen and fellow Bangladeshi economist Muhammad Yunus [ Images ] had attended the dinner hosted in their honour by leading Bangladeshi NGO BRAC.
Sen is slated to attend a number of programmes and deliver lectures on economy and rights issues under the auspices of CPD and rights group Ain O Shalish Kendra.
He is the second Bengali Nobel laureate after Rabindranath Tagore [ Images ], the composer of the national anthems of both India [ Images ] and Bangladesh.
Yunus became the third member of the panel of Bengali recipients of the world's most prestigious award this year.
