In one of the biggest hauls in recent times, the Army has unearthed a huge war like store of ammunition in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on a tip-off, four army columns were launched for search in Sheeri village in the district on Sunday, a defence spokesman said on Monday.
Two AK rifles, a rocket launcher, four pistols, two under barrel grenade launchers, 57 UBGL grenades, 40 hand grenades, five anti-tank grenades and seven anti-tank mines were recovered during the search operation, he said.
In addition, 1,084 rounds of AK ammunitions, seven AK magazines, 32 pistol ammunition rounds, four improvised explosive devices, nine detonator, four kilograms of explosives, three rocket-propelled grenade shells were also recovered during the operation, he said.
