Office of Profit JPC motion approved by RS

The Rajya Sabha, on Friday, approved the motion to set up a 15-member Joint Parliamentary Committee for suggesting a comprehensive definition of Office of Profit.

The motion has already been approved by the Lok Sabha.

The JPC will consist of 10 members from Lok Sabha to be nominated by the Speaker and five from the Rajya Sabha to be named by the Chairman. It will examine constitutional and legal positions relating to an Office of Profit.
