Corruption charges against former external affairs minister K Natwar Singh do not stand as they have not been proved in the Justice Pathak Inquiry Authority report, Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Sitaram Yechury said on Friday.
"As far as our knowledge goes, there is no clarity on whether Natwar Singh has got money or committed any sort of corruption in the deal," he said.
"The allegation against him was that he got money and is involved in the corrupt deal. Since those allegations could not be proved, according to law there are no charges against him," he said.
The CPM Politburo member said it was up to the Congress to decide whether any action must be taken.
