Announcing this, Sonia's representative K L Sharma said that a meeting of the party workers and leaders has been convened on Thursday in which strategy for the by elections would be chalked out.
Gandhi had recently resigned from her Lok Sabha seat after being attacked by the Opposition on the issue of holding an office of profit. Elections in Rae Bareli will take place on May 8.
