Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Co-operation Minister M V Raghavan, Transport Minister N Sakthan and Labour Minister Babu Divakaran were among 245 candidates who filed nomination papers on Monday for the coming Assembly elections.
Oommen Chandy filed his papers at Puthuppally, Raghavan at Punalur and Babu Divakaran at Kollam, Election Commission sources said.
Neelalohitadasan Nadar, who was denied a seat by the Janata Dal (Secular) on Sunday, filed his nomination papers from Kovalam as an independent candidate.
Former minister K P Viswanathan filed his papers from Kodakara in Thrissur. CITU leader P K Gurudasan filed his nomination from Kollam and Communist Party of India (Marxist) central committee member M A Baby from Kundara. Communist Party of India leader and sitting MLA K P Rajendran filed his nomination from Kodungallur in Thrissur.
Tuesday is the last date for the filing of nominations.
