With its interview of Congress member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi creating a political storm, Tehelka weekly on Saturday night termed the issue as "a clear case of misunderstanding" and said "any errors" in it are "inadvertent and regretted", superseding its dismissal of Congress' claim that no interview took place.

"This seems to be a clear case of misunderstanding. Mr Gandhi thought he was having a casual chat whereas our reporter took it to be a proper interview," the weekly said in a statement here, barely a few hours after rubbishing Congress claim that Rahul had not given any interview.

"Any errors in the interview are inadvertent and regretted," it said issuing a second statement in the day in the midst of the political controversy over Rahul's remarks in the interview that there was "no trace of governance" in Centre-ruled and poll-bound Bihar.

The statement also described as a "pity" that the issue was being "politicised" by other parties and "a storm in a tea cup is being created".

Issuing the fresh statement, the newspaper said it was its "final take" and "overrides the earlier statements".

Earlier, Tehelka had dismissed the Congress contention and asserted that the interview with Rahul was "formal" and there was "nothing casual or private about it".
