Militants shot dead two persons, including a Special Police Officer, in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Thursday morning, official sources said.
A group of militants barged into the house of SPO Sajad Ahmed in Tipri area of the district around 0230 am on Wednesday and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Sajad and one Abdul Wahid on the spot, they said. Troops have launched a cordon operation in the area to track down the militants, the sources added.
Meanwhile, a civilian was killed in army firing in Thanamang area of Rajouri district early Wednesday morning, the sources said. Hanief was going to a mosque for morning prayers, when a guard at the army camp mistook him for a militant after he did not stopped on the directions of the troops, they said.
