A minor fire broke out at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Friday but did not cause much damage, the Fire Department said.
The fire, apparently due to short circuit, broke out in a room at the domestic terminal around 9 a.m. and was
brought under control within minutes, it said. An office computer was destroyed in the fire.
Meanwhile at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Domestic Airport in Mumbai, several flights of Jet Airways and Sahara Airlines were delayed on Friday morning.
The check-in systems of both the airlines at terminal 1B were down from 5.30 a.m. to 7.50 a.m., airport sources said. However, the flights of Indian Airlines were unaffected, they added.
Due to both incidents, the arrival and departure of many flights between Mumbai and Delhi were affected.
