Three persons, including a terrorist, were killed in separate incidents in Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, official sources said.
The unidentified terrorist was killed in a gunbattle with troops of Rashtriya Rifles in the Pathri Behak area of Bandipora, Baramulla district, north Kashmir early on Tuesday, the sources said, adding the operation was still continuing.
In another incident on Tuesday, militants shot dead property dealer Abdul Rashid Ganai in his shop in Lawaypora, Srinagar. Ganai, a resident of Gonipora, was previously affiliated with the counter-insurgency Ikhwan group, the sources said.
Meanwhile, a bullet-riddled body of a man identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat was recovered by the police from a field during search operations at Kujjar village in Yaripora area, Kulgam, Anantnag district on Tuesday morning. Villagers have claimed that the victim was killed during a cordon by the army.
Also in Anantnag district, residents of Hillar village staged a peaceful demonstration to protest the arrest of an employee of fire services department Ghulam Hassan by Rashtriya Rifles on Monday night.
