Congress Rajya Sabha member Saifuddin Soz has expressed confidence that talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference delegation would have some positive outcome.

Only tripartite talks can solve Kashmir: Hurriyat

Soz, who played a key role in bringing about the talks between the prime minister and the APHC leadership, told Rediff.com over the phone from Srinagar that a lot of hard work had gone behind the scene to turn these talks into a reality.

Why is India talking to Hurriyat now?

"Monday's meeting between Dr Singh and the Hurriyat delegation... I hope will be able to break the ice but I must caution that we should not expect miracles and solutions in a single night," he said.

Soz would be flying in to New Delhi later in the afternoon to assist the prime minister and other colleagues in the talks.
