Alarmed by the deadly terror strike ahead of Diwali and Eid festivals, Delhi Police on Sunday beefed up security across the capital and particularly set up sandbag bunker pickets in some markets.
At least 2,600 additional personnel of Delhi Police, besides hundreds drawn from central paramilitary forces were deployed across the capital after police chief K K Paul reviewed security arrangements with top officials.
Security was especially beefed up in market places, which continued to witness a surge of festival shoppers despite Saturday's blasts.
Taking extraordinary precautions, police set up sandbag pickets manned by personnel armed with sophisticated weapons and erected metal detector door frames at some prominent markets in the capital.
Protective measures were also intensified at sensitive places, like temples and vital installations.
Security was tight at the Metro and railway stations as well as airports after the review of arrangements.
Police carried out raids at scores of places across the capital and adjoining Noida and Ghaziabad to hunt for perpetrators of Saturday's carnage.
Teams have been despatched to Jammu and Kashmir and some other places to collect clues.
Three blasts rocked the capital in quick succession on Saturday evening killing 59 people and leaving scores injured.
Authorities said they have 'lots of information' and investigation was proceeding in the 'correct direction'.
