Lok Janshakti Party on Wednesday alleged that bogus voting and tampering with Electronic Voting Machines had occurred in some booths of Mahnar assembly constituency in Bihar and said supporters of its candidate Rama Kishore Singh were being terrorised by his political opponents.
The party, in a letter to the chief election commissioner, said apprehending rigging, it had last week itself demanded deployment of adequate central para-military forces to prevent booth capturing in Wednesday's poll.
40-45 percent voting in 2nd phase
Mahnar figured in the list of 62 constituencies earmarked for the second phase of polling.
Singh is a sitting member of the legislative assembly from the constituency which falls under the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, represented by LJP President and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
Without naming the Rashtriya Janata Dal, party national General Secretary R G James said in the letter, "we have known from reliable sources that there is a conspiracy by our political opponents, particularly those belonging to a dominant political party which was in power till recently, to scuttle impartial poll."
