An Indo-American think tank 'US India League' Monday expressed concern over the pending sale of 30 United States F-16 fighter aircraft to Pakistan fearing this could fall into the Chinese hands.

"How do we know this advanced military technology won't end up in Chinese hands," asked US India League executive director Don Feder.

"Pakistan and its ally China are involved in a joint venture to manufacture fighter planes in Pakistan. What guarantee do we have that F-16 planes won't make their way to the Peoples Liberation Army," a release quoted Feder as saying.

Stating that the deal was likely to be announced next week, the release said US India League hopes the American people will carefully consider where "our" nation's intersts lie in the proposed sale of 30 F-16s to Pakistan.

Organised in January 2005, the US India League strives to strengthen strategic and economic ties between the world's two largest democracies, the release added.
