The moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference Monday said it was interacting with leaders of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to evolve ways for their dignified return to the Valley.

The faction, headed by softliner Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, said it had started meeting moderate Kashmiri leaders and other prominent figures to discuss ways for the return of Pandits to the Valley.

"We held meetings with representatives of Kashmir Secular Alliance and Kashmir Hindu Forum in the past two days in this regard," Hurriyat's interlocutor Syed Salim Gilani told PTI.

"We will also meet representatives of all-state Kashmiri Pandit Conference and Kashmir Pandit Sabha (Jammu) in the next few days," he said.

He, however, added, "We have not yet interacted with hardline Kashmiri Pandit groups like Panun Kashmir and Kashmir Samiti (Delhi)."

Gilani, who is also president of the Jammu Kashmir National Party, said a meeting of moderate Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiri Pandits was held in Srinagar on July 19.

The Hurriyat was sincerly pursuing the agenda of dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, he said.

Mirwaiz was likely to visit Jammu in November for interaction with representatives of the Pandit community in connection with their return to the Valley, Gilani said.
